Tait Brown Has posted some useful guidelines on the subject of front end development and the best way to write maintainable, clean and accessible code.

Tait has posted a GitHub hosted document, allowing for revisions, forking and issue logging and encourages you to log any corrections or raise any questions via the issues interface.

If you're relatively new to web development, I encourage you to take a look and learn some good habits early on.
