After I signed back up for Gamefly, Shadowrun was the newest game from Microsoft game studios that was first on my list that looked somewhat interesting. When I got the game and actually played it, I found it anything but interesting.
It’s the same old story. A handful of maps, and two teams battling it out for the win. The only difference is you play as one of the four races they offer in the game and you have special powers that you have to buy at the start of each game. It sounds interesting, but after playing the same monotonous maps and only having two game modes I found myself bored and sending it back after a few days.

The lack of any single player story or missions and solely relying on laggy multiplayer game modes or the really dumb A.I. when you play a match against bots really makes for one of those “waste of money” games.
You know when a major game retailer is offering it free when you buy a copy of Halo 2 for Windows vista, it can’t be that great of a game in the first place.

For the first few days I thought it was the best new thing since sliced bread. Unfortunately the fun this game provides has about the same shelf life as a loaf of bread as well. Now I’m just torn between whether or not I want to keep it around for the time being to get the achievments, or get some money back out of it while it’s still worth more than the plastic it’s pressed on… I sure am glad Blue Dragon is coming out next month so I know I’ll be kept busy while I waste another Summer sitting in the A/C trying my best to avoid accidentally getting a tan.
